Gov. Abbott: Liberty and chips and salsa for all?

From La Posada, a Mexican restaurant on West Gate Boulevard in Austin, this is menudo with handmade corn tortillas, chips and salsa and cinnamon-spiced horchata (a sweet soft drink made from rice milk). Served with lime and chopped jalapenos and onions.

Houston country singer Rich O’Toole was just voicing every Texan’s common complaint when he went on Twitter Monday and asked for free chips and salsa for everyone:

What he probably didn’t expect was for his tweet to catch the attention of Gov. Greg Abbott, who seemed to be in favor of free chips and salsa for all Texans:

The 85th Texas Legislature kicked off last week, and there’s already been some talk about other issues, such as bathroom legislation. The first budget bill was filed Tuesday morning.
