You mean houses in other states don’t have two living rooms?

According to a new report by real estate company Trulia, Texas houses have more to offer their inhabitants. Especially if you’re included in the 43 percent of Americans who reported that they would like a larger home.

If you’ve traveled out of state, it might not surprise you to hear that Texans like a little more room to stretch out at the end of the day. Essentially, Texans like their homes the same way they do most things: bigger. The analysis ranked Austin as the U.S. city that offers “starter home” buyers with the most square footage (a median size of about 1400 square feet), Houston with the largest “trade-up” homes and Dallas as the city with the second-largest “premium”homes.

The report summarized its findings by saying that home buyers looking for the most space for their buck are smart to buy in the South, but really smart to buy in Texas.
