Live chat replay: MoPac toll lanes with Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority

Austin is a few weeks away from having its first tollway with “dynamic” tolls, charges that could vary as often as every five minutes based on traffic volume in the added lane on each side of North MoPac Boulevard. Those tolls will be set by a computer program, with human oversight, designed to maintain a speed of at least 45 mph in the toll lanes.

The American-Statesman in Tuesday’s edition ran a Q-and-A about the project. But knowing that we might not have answered everything that a reader might want to know, we’rehosting an hour-long live chat  at 11 a.m. today with Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority executive director Mike Heiligenstein and his top staff. Transportation reporter Ben Wear will moderate the chat.

Hit us, and the mobility authority, with your best questions.
